The fiance and I stopped by the other night as she was craving onion pancakes. We ordered the onion pancakes, chicken fried rice, Han Gen Chicken (Chicken with basil, green pepper and scallions) and Twice cooked pork. We really enjoyed our meal, I would definitely get the twice cooked pork again which had a great, smokey flavor to it. My fiance loved her onion pancakes, which are the thick, chewy variety, not thin and crispy.Service was quick and responsive, and the owner is a sweet lady who stopped by our table to see how the meal was. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends for a casual meal out.

Came here for Saturday night dinner and was happy to experience a relatively quiet/calm evening. We ordered the combo pan fried noodles and orange chicken. It was pretty good, not the best Chinese food I've had, but pretty good.Staff was kind/friendly but hard to flag down. We ended up seating ourselves, waited awhile for someone to take our order and waited even longer to get our check.I would recommend coming here for a casual meal but not for a nice night out nor for late night munchies.

Their quick at filling up the water (a good indicator)... our waiter, Michael was engaging, pleasant, funny, and offered quite thorough suggestions.Brought a cake for birthday, no problem. He even offered candles thinking we didn't bring any. This was after my 2nd visit. Such attentive and pleasant service help to create a nice eating atmosphere, I'm definitely going back.

This rating might be a bit harsh overall. I like this place for lunch ......you get a nice soup and a salad of sorts and a main dish for a reasonable price. The rating mostly reflects a dinner that I dragged the wife to because I liked the lunch. We were disappointed by the orange beef..........like the orange chicken that someone mentioned earlier, too much crust & not enough beef........don't know why they do it like this.........there is so little meat that even if they doubled or tripled the thickness, it wouldn't cost them much more. Kind of like skimping on the number of nails you use to build a house......won't affect the overall cost much but it greatly degrades the quality of the finished product. We were also disappointed by the HK style fried noodles which were drowning in gravy which was a bit salty for our tastes. Perhaps then it depends on what you order but I don't think I'm brave enough to take wife there again esp. when we have some tried and true places much closer to home.Note also that the menu that is posted outside the back door is 3 or 4 yrs old (according to manager) and does not reflect current prices (which are significantly higher, of course).

We had our food delivered. When we called to order I specifically asked them to bring hot sauce and soy sauce. When we unpacked the food, there was only 1 packet of soy sauce. I quickly called back and asked them to have the delivery guy bring some soy and hot sauce since he couldn't be too far because he just left. The restaurant said, "you want him to go back for that?" I said that I do, especially since I asked for the sauces ahead of time and I tipped him very well. The person on the phone said that they would be back to drop off the sauce, but never did. That is a very bad business practice and really cheap of them to only give us 1 soy sauce packet in the first place. Now I wonder if they cheap out on the meat and buy lower quality meat. The first time I went to this restaurant was about 15 years ago and it was great. Since then it has really gone down hill. Recently a friend told me that it was good again. So my husband and I were lazy last week and decided to have some food delivered. Big mistake. For delivery you have to order at least $35 worth of food. So I ordered General Tso's Chicken, Black Pepper Lamb, Hunan Prawns, Deep fried Mushrooms, and rice. The rice was fine. The deep fried mushrooms were disgusting - they were flavorless hockey pucks. The GT Chicken and BP lamb were mushy and very bland, and the Hunan prawns while tasty weren't spicy. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the service is great. We got our food in less than a half hour.I think this place only survives because it is one of the few restaurants in Mountain View that actually delivers.

I ordered the house special, house triple delight to go. it comes with dry braised prawn szechuan style (quite good, not spicy, sweet and sour and the prawns were huge), chicken with garlic sauce (good, lots of chicken meats, bamboo shots and water chesnuts) and snow peas beef (enough beefs, fresh snow peas and carrot). So Im happy with my order. One entree is enough for two people or in my case two meals. The hot and sour soup is pretty good. It is a lot of soup for $6.95.I saw this restaurant when I went to farmer market. i will come back again or order to go. The foods are not salty for my taste.

I was really excited to eat here. I had been recommended here in the past, and passing by the place on my way to work, it looked really nice, so I got a few friends together and finally ate there last night. One thing I've got to say is that the service was attentive throughout our meal, so I'll give them that. However, we ordered our usual standard Chinese fare (kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, string beans) and while it wasn't disgusting, it was nothing memorable. Actually, some of the beef was a little tough and the string beans looked a little old, so it was memorable, just not in a way that reflects favorably on this establishment. So for a meal that didn't really leave anyone satisfied and had us in a slightly worse mood than when we came, it was way too expensive and not worth the trip.

Oh my, I think this just might be the worst chinese food I've ever had. Their lunch special included soup, salad, entree with white rice, and iced tea, and nothing was good. I usually love hot and sour soup, but theirs was the worst I've ever had. Their ma po tofu was sitting in a plate of oily sauce...way more oil than sauce. And judging by all the black specks on the tofu, it was cooked in a wok that hadn't been cleaned in a looong time. With all the oil and dirt specks, I was actually afraid to eat it. The beef in the beef and broccoli was chewy and all clumped together. The quality of their rice was terrible. And even their tea was watered down. We left most of the food on the table and refused their offer to have it packed to go...uh, no thanks, our dogs deserve better than this. The sign outside says lunch specials are $6.95 & up...pay attention to the "& up" because you only have two choices at $6.95...most of them are at $7.95. Sure, it's only $1 more, but that's too much to pay for crappy food.

Hangen gets a rounded up star for not hustlin cash out of me when the plastique was out during bill time at lunch. (Either that or I got lucky)Another choice for an affordable Chinese lunch set (note that I never use the word stellar with these descriptions), where in the $8 ish range ($10 ish with tips/taxes) you get some interesting looking iceberg lettuce salad with a generic dressing, a soup (either hot & sour or some egg droppy), your entree, but no ice cream. If you are looking to fill your stomach, and you are not too picky, this joint and even the Hustlin Chili joint a stone's throw away, will do in a pinch.Somehow I ended up with dan dan noodles / dan dan mian, or abbreviated as DDM. I mean hey if we can have XLB and SJB (Shen Jian Bao) abbreviated, and now NRM (niu rou mian/beef noodle soup), why not DDM? Not to be confused with DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) or DLLM (Cantonese abbreviated phrase of casting an aspersion and action towards someone's mother...perhaps in reaction of utter disgust to being propositioned/hustled for lunch money in ca$h).DDM is like that generic named dish that can spawn multiple variants. With meat, or no meat? With broth or brothless? Insanely spicy and greasefest? Lots of interpretations possible here.It totally sucks when your first DDM experience is out of the country that ruins your standards for bowls to come and sets the bar astronomically high, where a retired master chef takes a mix of flour, water, and duck eggs, and uses his inner "chi" (breathing) while sucking in his stomach, then using both his bare hands to mix and knead the dough, akin to those hardcore monks in Shaolin kung fu movies where they keep punching vats of hot sand to train their knuckles to become hammerheads, except this chef can probably whoop some ass with his noodles too. Then after the dough is done for machine cutting of noodles, a master fragrant broth is prepared with mature/old whole chicken and Jinghua/Chinese cured ham, dried shrimp and shells. Then the noodles are cooked "al dente" style, put into the broth, then the bowl is garnished with shaved peanut powder, scallions, high quality sesame paste. Minced meat (puffy texture) is optional at this point, ditto for Sichuan peppercorns and chili oil pools of greasefest. It certainly does not help that the restaurant that serves this bowl only allows one per customer, and they make only a limited # each day. When the bar is that high, an affordable lunch special rendition is not going to be anywhere close. At this point I'm praying that I don't end up with peanut butter version (instead of sesame paste) for DDM with generic spaghetti as noodles.PBDDM? Blasphemou$.The noodles were thinner than udon but thicker than spaghetti. It was almost like pasta meatsauce but different. Spicy....a bit. But a tad too salty, with darkened chili oil. Somewhat sloppily put together, but hey what do you expect for affordability. Best you can do at this point is toss dat chit up like a salad to spread the salty and greasy all around so the noodles absorb whatever it can, and wolf it down till you've had enough. Unfortunately for me, I went as far as about an inch above the bottom of the bowl. Whatever small pile that was left over, my body did not want.Definitely no DDM here for me next time.
